Do you ever visit a fast food restaurant and have a hard time deciding what to order? You have a few favorites but you can’t pick just one. You want some variety but you don’t want to spend a lot of cash, and not many places have a $1 value menu. Wendy’s 4 for $4 deal solves all of that – order 4 items from their expanded menu and pay just $4. It almost sounds too good to be true but it’s real – and it’s one of the best value deals out there.

History

In 2015, Wendy’s introduced a combo meal deal that gave customers a hamburger, four-piece chicken nuggets, small fries, and a small drink for just $4. To sweeten the deal, in 2018, Wendy’s expanded the deal so that customers could choose from eight different quality entrées. Pair that with nuggets, fries, and a drink and you’ve got yourself a deal that can’t be matched anywhere else.

Inspiration

Wendy’s chief concept and marketing officer Kurt Kane explains that Wendy’s invented the 4 for $4 to give their customers the best fast-food meal in the US for $4. Value menus were getting boring and few fast-food restaurants offered quality $1 menus – just smaller, basic items. So they decided to try something different, and the response has been amazing. Now they’ve taken this concept to the next level by expanding the menu options. Same quality- better price.

Types of Items in Wendy’s 4 for $4

I love choices, and this is a great opportunity to mix up meal choices, getting something a little different each time. Wendy’s 4 for $4 consists of fries, a drink, four chicken nuggets, and the choice of the main entree. The eight entree options are a cheeseburger, a cheeseburger deluxe, a bacon cheeseburger, a double-stack cheeseburger, a crispy chicken sandwich, a crispy chicken BLT, a grilled chicken wrap, and a spicy chicken wrap.

Wendy’s 4 for $4 Review

Wendy’s was the first fast-food brand to create a 99¢ Super Value Menu in 1989, and they’ve consistently stayed ahead of the curve in offering their customers quality fast food at great prices. So, of course, they blew their competition out of the water with their 4 for $4 deal, making it more affordable to eat out.

1.      Taste and Texture [5/5]

Each item on the 4 for $4 menu is worth trying. I like Wendy’s natural cut fries, and their nuggets are flavorful and crispy with just the right amount of breading covering juicy chicken pieces. Both of those items have stood the test of time, and they’re pretty well-known my any Wendy’s customer. The fun part is choosing the entree item. Wendy’s beef and chicken patties are fresh, never frozen. The beef patties make a savory base for any of Wendy’s burgers, and all of the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The chicken sandwiches are delicious as well- flavorful chicken breasts make for excellent sandwiches, and the same toppings are also fresh and crisp. The grilled chicken wraps are the most different items in this list, as the ingredients come wrapped in a giant tortilla instead of a bun. The honey mustard that accompanies this wrap gives it a unique and balanced taste, and it’s one of my favorite 4 for $4 menu options. They’re all delicious, and you can mix and match every time you go!

2. Are they healthy? [3/5]

The nutritional value with Wendy’s 4 for $4 deal varies depending on which items you choose. However, most of the items available are less than healthy- burgers, fries, nuggets, and soft drinks. However, the beef in each of the burgers has protein, and french fries are a vegetable, right? If you’re looking to order a meal with fewer calories and carbs, the two best entree options are the grilled chicken wrap or the spicy chicken wrap. You could also skip the soft drink and opt for a freshly brewed iced tea.

3. Are they Worth it? [5/5]

Wendy’s 4 for $4 menu is possibly the best deal in fast food. Wendy’s has always been ahead of the game in terms of menu substitutions and value meals, and now, their 4 food items for $4 is a steal. It’s also great if you want to purchase a couple of meals and split them among kids- a little bit of something for everyone. Affordable, tasty, quality food that’s less expensive than most combo meals is a big win in my book.

Final Verdict

Wendy’s 4 for $4 is a great value where you can build your meal without spending too much money. You can mix and match your entree options, order more than one variation to feed a family or group, and even choose healthy options like grilled chicken wraps. It’s pretty challenging to find a deal like this anywhere else, so we say it’s worth it.
