Screamin’ Sicilian Pizzaa Review
Product Name: Screamin’ Sicilian Pizza
Offer price: $7.49-$8.99
Do you ever stand in the frozen food section trying to decide which frozen pizza to buy for the week? Maybe one tastes ok, but the crust is too thin; one has pepperonis that don’t taste quite right, and the others aren’t worth the price tag because the toppings are scarce. But if you’ve ever experienced a Screamin’ Sicilian pizza, you’ll never go back to the other frozen options again. Each pizza is individually rolled with stone-fired crust and copious amounts of toppings. Known for their secret recipe sauce and generous toppings, these pizzas are setting a whole new standard for frozen food. Learn more in this Screamin Sicilian Review.
History and Inspiration
Screamin’ Sicilian is a family-owned craft pizza company founded by Gaspare “Papa Palermo” Fallucca. He was a Sicilian immigrant who came to America in 1954 with a suitcase full of family recipes and a dream to make over-the-top pizzas. Passionately loud, Papa Palermo screamed his love for his frozen pizzas, hence the name Screamin’ Sicilian – as a tribute. The box features a cleverly-designed mustache (that you can pop out and take a selfie with later) and a mouth with a hole so you can see the pizza inside the box.
Types of Screamin’ Sicilian Pizzas
The Screamin’ Sicilian brand offers 28 products that can be found at various stores like Walmart, Safeway, Amazon Fresh, Randall’s, Ralph’s, Fry’s Food Stores, Instacart, Pick N Save, Smooth’s, Krogers, and Albertson’s. The flavors include the standard cheese, pepperoni, or supreme pizzas. But they get pretty creative with options like Jacksonville Bratt Pepper and Onion, Bessie’s Revenge, and Mother of meat, which includes spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, julienne sliced ham, and smoky bacon. Screamin’ Sicilian offers full-sized pizzas for 3 to 4 people, “I’m Single” pizzas for single servings, original crust, think crust, and even a new line of pizzas made with beer called “NEW! Za’ Brewski.” Clever, isn’t it?
Screamin’ Sicilian Review
The pizzas are made by specially-crafting the individually rolled stone-fired butter crust, topping it with the secret-recipe tomato sauce, and ridiculous amounts of toppings. The brand features whole milk mozzarella cheese from Wisconsin and tons of bold toppings like mouth-watering Italian meatballs, premium pepperoni, or spicy Italian sausage chunks. I’ve not found another frozen pizza like it.
Screamin’ Sicilian pizzas are currently available in select grocery stores and retailers, but you can also purchase them online.
1. Taste and Texture [5/5]
Screamin’ Sicilian pizzas are as much fun to eat, you might guess from the packaging. The crust is thick and delicious, and the bottom gets just the right amount of crispy after baking it. The sauce states like it were simmering in the kitchen for hours before being ladled over the crust. And the cheese is a bonus. Some pizza companies take shortcuts with the cheese to cut costs, but Screamin’ Sicilian uses real whole milk mozzarella cheese, and they definitely don’t scrimp on the amount. You can choose any of your favorite toppings and some you may not have even heard of before, but no matter which you choose, you can guarantee that there will be copious amounts of them. The flavor is excellent, and it tastes more like a homemade pizza than a frozen pizza.
2. Are they healthy? [3.5/5]
Screamin’ Sicilian pizza is high in fat, calories, and sodium, thanks to the thick crust and cheese. But it is an excellent source of calcium, providing about 50% of your daily recommended amount. It’s also a good source of vitamin A and iron: iron helps build red blood cells, and vitamin A is important for healthy skin and mucous membranes. While this meal isn’t as healthy as some other dinner options, it does have it’s benefits. And if you’re concerned about the nutritional value, complement your pizza with a homemade Olive Garden salad.
3. Are they Worth it? [5/5]
Screamin’ Sicilian pizzas are definitely worth it. They stand out from the rest from the first look at the box all the way through the last delicious bite. They’re easy to prepare- just stick them in the oven for 17-19 minutes, and they’re made with generous amounts of high-quality ingredients. The price is a bit higher than other frozen pizzas, but the price is worth it. The full size easily feeds 3 to 4 people, and the “I’m Single” personal pan pizza is perfect for a single serving.
This is the best frozen pizza I’ve found, and luckily, they’re easy to find in your favorite grocery store. Even if you can’t find one in your local supermarket, you can order them online, and some even offer free shipping. Frozen pizzas that taste homemade? Less expensive than delivery? This pizza gets two big thumbs up.
